I read the book, while sitting on my deck. I loved the contrast between the storyline and the poems.
It made me think back to my sinful days, and I thank God

I thought the book was heart wrenchingly beautiful. Such lovely expressions of the ugliness and pain that many of us endure.  If one does not see himself/herself in these words, then certainly s/he knows someone who grapples with the strongholds that plague Paris’s word.  Bravo for Paris as she serves as a role model to us all, for even though life throws ugly curveballs our way, with God’s grace and love for us, we can overcome anything.                              ~BCPS Educator
